Took the words right out of my mouth, Ayton. Or maybe it's took the words right from my fingertips. Anyways, yes, a Dazzle is probably the easiest capture card you can use. And you
will need some splitters because it's a pain to film something through a tiny preview screen. Best Buy has
some pretty cheap ones that have been working for me so far (just remember to get three). As Fuzz said, you'll need a program to actually do some capturing. Luckily, Dazzles come with Pinnacle Studios which is just about as easy to use as the Dazzle itself. I just recommend not to edit with Pinnacle Studios since it sucks at rendering videos.
So, then, you'll have to get a video editing program. Windows Movie Maker is a great program for beginning editors and for simple editing. Plus, it's right there on your computer, but it has its limitations (such as randomly shutting down...). The next step up (a big step) from there is probably
Sony Vegas Pro which has so much editing tools on there that you don't know where to start. It's just about limitless in its editing capabilities, but...it's incredibly expensive. So, instead, I would recommend (if you want to go in that direction), to buy
Vegas Movie Studio,
Vegas Movie Studio Platinum, or
Vegas Studio Platinum Pro Pack which are basically cheaper, more limited versions of Sony Vegas Pro. Without going into a lot of detail in which ones do what, you can compare each one with
this nifty chart.
Phew. Hope that's enough information for you.
