Some good news, just got a new HD tv and am in need of a Capture Card. I was planning on getting Hauppauge HD. Not necessarily for Halopen, but I just made a new youtube channel and plan on making videos. Could be Montages, Machinima, or just plain Capture Card tests of me running around on Halo.
Not sure if it's the right way to go though, which is why I'm asking for some advice.
Basically I'm in need of:
HD Capture Card
HD splitter(to play and record)
Editing Program Vegas 6 or better
A cute kitten video to draw attention to my channel
A capturing program(not sure how that works)
Any help here would be much appreciated, plus it would be nice to have 2 cameramen who can film in HD

Yeah, I would go with the Hauppage cause...
1) It's very easy to use, and Reclaimer (I'm guessing) and myself haven't had any problems with it.
2) It's easy to hook up. All you have to do is plug your Xbox's component cables into the back of the Hauppauge, and then take another set of component cables (which the Hauppauge comes with!) and plug those into the Hauppauge from the back of your TV.
3) It comes with a simple capturing program.
A couple of things though...
1) Depending on how far away your computer is away from your Xbox, you might want to get a USB extender as well.
2) In the capturing program that the Hauppauge comes with, you have to record in .mp4 files which Vegas does not like at all. So you're gonna need a file converting program as well (another thing Reclaimer can help you with, me thinks).
Anything I miss, Reclaimer?

There's the converter.
I have Vegas 8 pro on one of my hard drives, we would just need to get on aim to transfer.
Plus you would be the third to film in HD.

I got my cc, and when I film and watch it back through quicktime, it takes up more than my entire screen and when I make it smaller all the characters are gridlike. Is that normal? OR do you guys use a certain setting to get better quality movies?
