"War (or War)"


Plot: "War (or War)" is a satirical comedy based on war and those involved told within four stories separated throughout the movie in little segments which sometimes weave in and out of each other. In 'The Private and the Officer', a naive Private finds out that armies fight wars and tries desperately to desert but is faced against the war-hardened yet awkwardly father-liker Officer. Nationalism and zealous hatred boil over in 'The Airmen and Pilot' in which two Airmen (one very young and impressionable, the other a zealously patriotic) and a Pilot search for a downed jet bomber. A soldier fearful for his life, in 'The Two Soldiers', is pinned down by enemy fire only to be stuck with another soldier who is hell bent on scheming grand heroics. And finally, in 'The Prime Minister, His Advisors, and the Ambassador', a Prime Minister must stop a growing conflict from blooming into a full blown war with the help (or lack thereof) of his Advisors.

Wow! The last post in here was from November 2009? Jeeze. Anyways, since this project has been resurrected and transformed into a comic, I thought it would be important to steer people to said comic, so in the main post above, I have included a link to the main page of the "War (or War)" comic and a link to the first issue. Check back here on Tuesdays and Thursday when I will be releasing new issues.

Sorry for delay, but Issue #2 is finally up in the main thread. It's not my fault. PAX decided to get in the way.

Anyways, the schedule should run as planned now with a comic being released every Tuesday and Thursday. Carry on.

Issue #3 is up! We're introduced to the two corporals who are pinned down by heavy enemy fire. One corporal just wants to get out alive while the other has more "heroic" plans...

Hmm I like this comic alot. Draws you in alot better than if it was poorly voice acted.

I agree with fuzz, the lack of voice acting makes the story MUCH more funny. I do think that the line about "they're going to make a movie out of this!" should have been changed to comic book though ;).

That's been happening to me too as I've been doing this comic. I also hear Reclaimer's voice when I'm reading the Prime Minister's dialog.

So here we are nearly at the end of “War (or War)” with the release of the last two comics, #19 and #20. But wait… There are only twenty comics. I said there would be twenty-one. So what about the last one?

Well…I lied.

The twenty-first issue will not be a comic. Instead, since it’s very action-oriented, it will be a short film set to a piece of music. I hope that’s okay and that you still love me. Expect it to be released next Thursday, November 17th.
