Welcome fellow members of the new Halopen.net Forums, we've migrated from SMF to vBulletin 3.8 !! This means we will soon have many more features than ever before (Including Halopen.com's old website).
Now, one thing i would like you all to know. We've purchased vBulletin's license during an upgrade period. Meaning they are soon releasing a new version of vBulletin (4.0) which is completely different to the one you see now. We only have the Forum license, they got this Publishing suite that has kind of like a portal feature which i wanted to install for vBulletin 3.8, and i will. We have one year of free updates. I can wait and see if vBAdvanced (Main Website Integration Feature for vBulletin) is updated to be compatible with 4.0 and then upgrade. In the meantime, well stick with version 3.8 ...
Some more notes on this subjects are that vBulletin is quite...complex. Settings are varied and a there are a lot of em. So far i've just scratched the surface these past few days due to availability from my part and set up a few things...just the core features of the forum system.
Rest assured everything will be set up as soon as most of our members sign up, meaning there wont be any Halopen Clan section (private) until all of you guys sign up so i can edit your user permissions so you have access to that section.
During vBulletin's setup, for some damn reason SMF's database got screwed up and no one has access to the info on those forums, and honestly i cant remember how the forum sections were set up there, but i do have a pretty good idea ... Rules will be the same, though we will have to re-write them.
I really hope you're all reading this....
Im opening the forums today Nov 8 at 7pm EST, link changed from halopen.net/forum to halopen.net/forums ... notice the S ... why ? i wanted to keep SMF forum up so i could get some info out of it, but i dont know if ill be able to...if you have that site bookmarked, just update the URL.
Main page for halopen.net ?
I hope you guys like the current splash screen, now vBAdvanced will be set up right after forums are all set up since its kind of like an extension for vBulletin ... itll get info out of the forums and just display it on the main site...which is cool and is what ive been trying to get this whole time. .. . .. .
i Will like to thank you all guys for your support, patience, suggestions, rants, donations, etc ...
Now we all have a pretty cool place on the internets to visit and hang out with friends and stuff.. Those of you guys who are familiar with vBulletin or just have nothing to do at all ... check for vBulletin styles or mods that we could use...just post a thread on feedback and suggestions and we'll analize your "submission" and go with it...or not, but i would like to know what you guys want.
Ive listened to your pleas...and now we have a rants section ;) just read the rules and ... thats a sample of what we can accomplish in this new site :D
Thanks again people, enjoy the new site !!!!
Love, McStarken
